North -East Tour

Darjeeling

Darjeeling, Nestled among the rolling mountains with the glistening Mt Kanchenjunga towering over the azure sky, Darjeeling fondly called “Queen of the Hills”, provides a perfect gateway for those seeking to be in harmony with nature. It lies about 490 km north of Kolkata. The vivid landscapes, tea plantation, eternal weather and the slopes make it one of the most popular tourist destinations of India. It is also known for its richness in cultural & natural heritage and the famous toy train that has been declared a United Nation world heritage. The peak periods for visitors are April to June and September to November.

Gangtok

Gangtok, the capital city of Sikkim, is a wonder nestled in the northeast. It is a hill station that gives you a view of the mighty Kanchenjunga Mountains from a distant skyline. It is also a base for a host of trekking enthusiasts who head towards the Himalayan mountain ranges. Situated in the eastern Himalayan range, Gangtok combines a modern, resort town style with ancient spiritual beliefs and an impressive natural heritage. It is a city of great food, atmospheric sceneries and beautiful Buddhist monasteries, which include Rumtek and Enchey. It has great potential for sightseeing as well, including the Nathu La Pass and Tsomgo Lake. Summer and spring seasons are the most popular tourist seasons.

Kalimpong

Kalimpong is a beautiful  place of grate attraction. This sleepy little town situated at an altitude of 1,200 mtrs, some 50 km from Darjeeling and 80 km from Gangtok. The first thing that a traveller visiting Kalimpong finds is its tranquil atmosphere. It is an ideal place for all the tourists who want to be really close to nature and be in the peaceful surroundings. The town is also known for scenic location, breathtaking views, and considered as heaven on earth for its natural sanctity. It also provides a panoramic view of the great Himalayan ranges and beyond.

Pelling

 

Pelling is a town in the district of West Sikkim, India. It is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the Northeast because it offers breathtaking views of the Kanchenjunga and surrounding ranges. It is a dream destination for trekkers, nature lovers, bird-watchers and serenity seekers.  The land around Pelling is still a virgin territory and is bathed with alpine vegetation, with numerous waterfalls lining the hillside. In the months of winter, Pelling is sometimes covered with a blanket of snow. It also forms the base from where trekkers and other peripatetic adventurers undertake the strenuous and arduous treks in West Sikkim. This beautiful hill town is easily accessible from both Gangtok and Darjeeling as It is located at a distance of 131 km from Gangtok and 73.9 km from Darjeeling. The best time to visit Pelling is between December to May.
